What on earth is an Americano?
An Americano is a social doubles format with a little more movement: partners and opponents rotate from round to round. Everyone earns their own points across the session, so the good bits do not depend on being stuck with the same partner all day.
Will it actually be fair?
That is the plan. Before play, Padel and Pint generates a Schedule and shows a plain-language Fairness summary, so you can check the planned balance of partner and opponent encounters, participation, and Rests before anyone starts lobbying for Court 1.
What if the numbers are a bit wonky?
When there are more active Participants than court capacity, the Schedule includes Rests. The Fairness summary shows the planned Rest balance before play, and the Leaderboard keeps Rests visible alongside matches played. No mysterious bench banishments.
Will it work when the signal gives up?
Yes. Padel and Pint is local-first: Tournament data stays on the device, and the essential hosting flow works after installation without reception or a login. Handy when the club Wi-Fi has other plans.
Do I need to drink a pint?
Absolutely not. The name is a vibe, not a dress code. Bring water, coffee, or nothing but your competitive spirit—no pint or padel pedigree required.
Can compatible doubles sports join the party?
Padel and Pint is built for padel, but its Classic Americano workflow can run compatible doubles-sport sessions, including tennis or pickleball. Those sports do not yet have dedicated rules, scoring presets, or interface treatment—so consider this a friendly crossover, not a full costume change.
